How do I take the formula?

Zilch Acne Formula by Dr. Vivian Tam is in tablet form. The tablets are made up of herbal medicine extracts pressed into tablets.

When can I expect results?

Patients report changes in skin within 1 – 2 weeks. Inflammation has reduced and new breakouts are much more infrequent. Clear skin may be noted within 6 – 8 weeks of use.
Everyone responds differently to treatments and times may vary from person to person, however, these reports are what is most commonly seen in clinic-use.

Can I take Zilch when I'm pregnant?

No. Zilch Acne Formula should not be taking during pregnancy.

Can I use Zilch Acne Formula for mild acne?

Yes. Zilch Acne Formula is designed with herbal ingredients that help with reducing inflammation and clearing toxicity in the body. The same patterns often exist with mild-acne, so Zilch Acne Formula can be beneficial.

The recommended dose for full strength for moderate – severe acne is 8 tablets (4 tablets in the morning, 4 at night) however, you can take whatever dosage you see fit. For eg: if you feel you are sensitive, you can start with 2 tablets x 2, or if your acne is milder you can try 3 tablets x 2.
I have teenage acne. Can I take Zilch Acne Formula?

Teenage acne can often be more difficult to manage due to the hormones changing during puberty. Zilch Acne Formula may help reduce the severity and manage teenage acne and it’s symptoms.

I am on the contraceptive pill/Implanon/IUD. Can I take Zilch?

Yes. Zilch Acne Formula is safe to use while on birth control medication and devices.

Is there anyone that shouldn't take Zilch Acne Formula?

Individuals taking anticoagulants or individuals at risk of bleeding problems should seek medical advice before taking Zilch. Do not use if pregnant or likely to become pregnant.

Can I take Zilch while on Roaccutane/acne medication?
Yes. There is no contraindication with Roaccutane medication.

I am planning to come off the pill and am worried about my skin breaking out. Can Zilch help?

Yes. Zilch Acne Formula can assist in managing your skin breakouts that commonly occur when people stop the contraceptive pill. General advice is to take it 2 weeks before you finish the last day of the pill.

Can Zilch be taken with other medication?
The TGA warnings for this product are as follows: Individuals taking anticoagulants or individuals at risk of bleeding problems should seek medical advice before taking Zilch. Do not use if pregnant or likely to become pregnant.

There are no other TGA contra-indications.

Are there any common side effects or reactions?

No. Zilch is 100% natural, with no added preservatives or nasties. This is general advice only and we cannot take into account specific allergies that individuals may suffer from.

My skin has cleared up on Zilch. Do I need to keep taking it?
No. Zilch Acne Formula is designed as a long term solution to acne. When the skin is clear, you should be able to stop taking Zilch. General advice is to ween off the herbs by taking 50% dose for two weeks and assessing your skin, to give yourself time to see if you need to continue taking it or not.  This is general advice only. I want to stay on Zilch Acne Formula on a maintenance dose after my skin has cleared up. Can I do this?
Yes. Some people opt to stay on it at a very low dose (2 pills once a day) to keep breakouts at bay. This is general advice only. I am breastfeeding. Can I take Zilch?

Zilch Acne Formula is made from 100% natural herbal ingredients, however, there has not been enough conclusive evidence to make the claim to say that it is s safe or unsafe for breastfeeding. Please consult your medical practitioner before starting on Zilch if you are breastfeeding.

Why do you have to take 8 tablets a day?

It sounds like a lot because we are generally used to the “1 a day” supplement dose. Because Zilch’s active ingredients are purely made with herbal extracts and not synthetically derived, the dosage needs to be higher to get the therapeutic benefit. You’re really just taking potent herbs in a tablet.
